Ce qui m'a frappé, alors que j'étais aux côtés d'Arman lorsqu'il réalisa cette série de pièces (pour une exposition à la Galerie GKM, que je salue au passage, Siwert si tu me lis...), c'est à quel point il mettait une obstination farouche a trouver la place de chaque fragment. Ce qui peut paraître du hasard était chez lui d'une précision démoniaque, il disait dans sa barbe en même temps qu'il cherchait l'endroit destiné au morceau qu'il avait en main: "il n'échappera pas à son destin".
On pourrait en faire une sorte de proverbe à la Arman: Chaque chose a sa place, chaque place a sa chose...

What struck me, while I was by Arman's side as he realized this series of works (for show at the GKM Gallery, that I am greeting here, Siwert if you read me...), is the extent to which he was fiercely obstinate in finding the right place for each fragment. What may appear as just chance was for Arman a matter of a demonic precision, he was mumbling in his beard while he was looking for the place he intended for the piece he had in hand: "it will not escape its fate" .
We could make a kind of proverb in Arman's style: Each object has its place, each place has its object... |
